Acually Steve, Capt, All Andreson did extensive research into this along with students and faculty at URI marine labs and they determined that fish do not feel pain as we know it, they do not have the recepters in there nerves that tell there brains they are in pain...So from what I have read and heard the answer is no

Billy, thats what I heard too. Seems to me if they can crush and swallow a whole adult lobster or a surf clam and then swallow it they shouldn't be feeling pain from a hook at least not as we would. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

imagine if we ate lobster like that . easier going in than coming out . ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that hurt but a perfect shell
