Surface temps for the Boston area are still in the mid 30's. I have no data on Quincy Bay or inside Hull, maybe a tad warmer due to shallower water. Man, we need Spring to get here. Anyone have an idea when the flounder start to show? Maybe when the waters hit 50? Got to get out, been a really long bad Winter.

temperatures

i watch temperatures extremely close....(hourly!)
and next week we finally will be showing temperatures
that are above 32 degrees for the low
other than that......... we have been flat lining _______
this of course is at 600 feet above sea level
(in my neck of the woods)
but in my opinion it is only when we reach
this plateau ....that the upward trend begins...
and after that the infrequent dips below freezing
are of no consequence.

Down here on Long Island I was fishing with a Kingfisher last week. I have been hearing Red winged Blackbirds for a few weeks and saw Gulls feasting on cinchworms.

i know!! i've been watching the surface temps for the past month.. they spike every now and then at around 41 (usually after rain), and i get all excited. then they drop back to mid 30's and i cry. still... two weeks and i'm there. maybe throw on some clams in some deep water see if i can't find a cod or something, while tossing around some new gear or something.
