Anyone using braid on their 710's or z's I was told the roller wouldn't hold up to pp or suffix.

I have a 712Z with pp on it, will let you know how it ends up after the season, don't think it will be a problem though

' COACH, come see me this weekend and try a 710 with braid, tell me what you think.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

I use 40# Powerpro on my 706Z. Contrary to you concerns, the manual pickup roller is a blessing when using braids which do not drag smooth compared to mono lines. Wouldn't you rather roll braid than drag it? The friction factor is why braid is so noisy as it chatters through the guides on a fish run against a heavy drag.

This is a significant subject: one of my winter projects was stripping down two surf rods, and replacing their adequate, Hardaloy guide systems with the smoother friction coefficient, SiC guides. Every little bit helps.
