Plus, you're guaranteed multiple 40-60# fish every trip simply by purchasing one. Surf or boat, plugs or eels, it doesn’t matter. Its all guaranteed

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

After reading this thread I know understand why recs hate comms so much....They just have no clue how it works. Its easy to hate something you don't know about. In the end its a good thing that the majority of the recs stick there noses up towards the comms, if they didn't there would be even more yahoos out during the season, making it shorter for the people actually trying to make some money. Don't get me started about the fact that RI boats can fish our season, and we can't get there permits anymore, not that they have much of a season to begin with. I wish mass would allow no more bass endorsements.

Fact is if you posses a comm license, you are a commercial fisherman. By that fact I am a commercial fisherman. Is it my job? No way. Do I consider my "professional". Definitely not. I know the real pros and "it aint me"! I have a 50-60 hour a week job not related to fishing. Am I/was I lucky enough to be taught how to fish and be successful enough(most of the time) to be able to afford my addiction? I thank those teachers frequently. Fact is I could ill afford to burn an easy 130 or so gallons per week w/out it. I think my situation fits the mold for many so called commercial fisherman. Art

There are a set of checks and balances. With the insane bag limits and ease of aquiring a license in Ma,the price paid per pound is usually substancially lower in Ma than Ri.
In RI,it's impossible to get a bass endorsement right now,but if you already have one,it wouldn't make sense to sell your catch in Ma.where they pay less.
What does bother me,is seeing Ma.comm.boats fishing BI,and taking Ma.limits(in RI)to sell in Ma.

Wow, that sounds great. I'd enjoy multiple 40 - 60#ers each trip. If I had only known it was this easy years ago, I would have picked up the comm license. I could have spent so much less time working hard at finding and catching fish. Maybe with the license, they'll just jump right in the boat without even having to leave the mooring.
