Yeah, god forbid fisherman care about the environment. I live in NY where lead isn't forbidden. I still don't use split shot. That is because it is bad for the fish, birds and for the waters I fish. Maybe you should start ingesting some lead and see where that gets you. Please take some pics and post them. I would love to see when your gums turn black and what Renal failure really looks like.
As fisherman we should try to protect what we hold most sacred. If it means losing the lead and using Tungsten then so be it. I do what I can and so should everyone else. It sounds like you are the guy who leaves his trash on the beach and keeps all his shorts. Who cares, let someone else worry about it, my selfishness is my top priority.
People complain about Liberals but it is these attitudes that cause all the problems.
