I wouldn't classify it as a shore fish. A shore fish, at least for our tourneys, is one that is Hooked and Landed while standing on the shore.
I would almost lean to classify it as a boat fish....almost.
Think about it, a Boat, Kayak, Float tube would all be considered boat fish. Why, because they provide you flotation out on the water. Skishing uses a wetsuit to accomplish the same thing. just a different way of looking at it
If anything this should generate some dialogue on the subject

So technically speaking, fishing in waders waist high IN the water shouldn't fall into a "shore fish" category either because you're not really standing on the shore, but in the water itself. Perhaps that should be re/considered as another different type of fishing in itself ??/??. Perhaps semi-skishing?
And maybe when you have to wade thru the water to a pile of rocks that you couldn't get to without getting wet should be considered......sub-shore fishing???....
Oh the technicalities of the terminologies of fishing. ....and to think, fishing USED TO BE so simple.
What class does spear-fishing fall into....? Aqua-fishing? which is neither shore fishing/boat fishing/skishing/oh boy....what a tangled web we weave -

I would say the key word would be Standing.....so lets say STANDING on the EARTH and call it a day.
and any further interpretation of the rules can always be brought up to the board for further discussion and/or clarification.
there is also a 3rd option.....if your fish doesn't fall in either category you get a handshake and a "Nice Fish"....just no award
