the other thing

is condensation and the screw can be the lowest spot
so thats why it leaks...there sometimes
and to fix that you run warm water to your tank.

otherwise for temporary fixing it....

if you want...

you can drill a 1/4 inch hole right thru the floor
into the basement and put a 5 gallon pail down there.

if this is a first floor toilet that is...

and then hook up a funnel and some plastic tubing
like what you'd use for an aquarium and just drain it
away... just heat the tubing with fire to stretch it as needed

thats the back woods hillbilly method tho heh heh heh
