Thank you to all those that organized and participated in the beach cleanups this year. Of course, don't be afraid to still take out a little more than you bring in

I figured I would relate one small but humorous story from a cleanup a couple weeks back:
Quote:
Did manage to do a little PR during the cleanup.

Me and Dennis were down cleaning at Gansett Saturday and this local starts walking his little dog, asks what we're doing and such. In my concerned angler do good face I explained we part of a several local fishing clubs that annually clean these beaches, tying to do our part and such, and that usually we find that rarely do we come across "fishing" debris, but more beer cans, wash in from boats, trash, home debris, etc. He then asked what was the most common so I replied other than beer cans it's "Beach Whistles". He was a little quizzical looking but as he continued to walk his dog and found assorted items, he placed them in one of our bags.

This went on for a little bit, and he found one of the common "feminine hygiene product application devices" often strewn about the beach, Brought it up to me and said "you never know what you're gonna find..." So I told him that he found his first "Beach Whistle"...

BTW - How in the bleep DO they get on the beach in such numbers?
Again - thanks
