That's from all the sawdust and paint fumes he's been breathing. Probably has a sawdust stigmatism too.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole

Two nights ago under a bright (near-) Full Moon I had (in my 16' boat-) Bass in shallow water of 39, 32, 28, 26 & 20 lbs. (all released/ all approx. weights except the #39 weighed in my net)...

& was thinking, "bright Full Moon is fine in the shallows-- guys are negative about bright nights for no reason!"

Then last night: same places, same conditions/ bright clear Moonlit sky, & same approach: no fish at all, Midnight 'till 10 AM!

"Damn that Full Moon killing the bite!"

Very cool. Ive gone as far as to look at moon phase records and check dates that have gone down as significant dates in Striped bass history.

Standing on the water, casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing
Distant ships sailing into the mist
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing
