Thats too bad, but it is pretty great that an 85 yr. old guy has the moxie to be working on his own boat, and being a pain in the butt to boot.

You'd be shocked! There's lots of older folks floating around who still take care of their boats.

There was a guy with an old Cheoy Lee ~30 (WOOD) that used to go to the Carribean on his own every winter then go to Maine every summer. He did this well into his 80's and took care of the boat himself and did the passage on his own.

On the positive side, he saved a lot of money on the install of the propane stove.

He is very lucky to have survived that, what a shame the boat looks ruined. i hope he doesn't plan to fix it himself, maybe he had insurance.
