future of the stripers?

Commercial fishing for Bass is a Joke as no one is making any real money at it!!

I would like to see all Commercial fishing stopped in state waters and Bass to become a Game fish. This would be the best thing for them and all us that love the chances of getting fish, and looking for that trophy fish!!

I totally agree with that. It wouldn't bother me in the least. That being said as long as it is legal I will be out tonite trying to pay for my gas. I actually look forward to the challenge and don't think the stocks have much to worry about with me out there.

I am not talking about rod and reel guys I am talking about the draggers and such which are a contributing factor to the depletion of breeders in the striper stock. I know well off the rod and reel guys do not make a dent in the population compared to accidental kill on certain style of dragers and also the ones who specifically drag for stripers and take the money fish as fast as they can which it is how they make there living and then the others end up in the drink dead from too much time out of the water. Anyway I thought it would have been interesting to some of you striper guys I hope someone finds it as educational as I did.

Aren't you the one that always talks about getting your 200pounds of fluke? I'd say that there is a lot more money in bass than fluke

I agree and I will have my 5 bass in the AM for tomorrow!!

But this said, with all the talk of Salt water Lic to fish, what are they going to do for us recreational wise??

I use my Lic now to pay for gas and get fish for the table cause the recerational limits are a joke and unfair!

I would Gladly give up all my Lic and buy a rec lic if they would close all inshore commercial fishing!! This will rebuild all the inshore fishing and we would all benefit from more fish, better limits, and quailty fish!! This is what we should be paying for!!

So yes I sell but because I feel I am forced to, in order to enjoy myself.
