TLapinski whipped em out in front of me last fall, but was too tired/ half in bag to get it. if anyone is/can, please pm me and we can work it out. just let me know exactly what I need and I will come to u. very flexible.
thanks in advance.

Al Bentson is the king of the rigged eel but it will be like getting an audience with the pope.

What style - Jersey, New York, or Rhody? And then there are the bobs.
You'll really be dangerous if you learn to rig em.

And then I showed you how to rig an eel...
Seriously, it is not that hard once you are shown your first. Bryan's method in the Fisherman a few weeks ago was interesting. Takes a few steps out that I do and adds his own twist. I learned from Pat Abate a few years back and really liked his method. The secret knot is the trick in his style, not sure who taught him. John Skinner also has a decent write up in "A Season on the Edge".

Easy and durable though!

FYI. "The Secrets of Surf Fishing at Night" by W A Muller has 2 chapters by Al Bentsen describing (with plenty of pictures) how to rig and fish eels.

I've never used a rigged eel, but would imagine having a blue destroy it is pretty frustrating.

Yes it is.. It takes about 20 mins per eel. After a while you will get faster at it..
All it takes is one second..
That is why I like to hook the bastages if I can...

Just Google "rigged eels"
and you will find a ton of info. I used one method to rig up some Berkley Gulps and did just fine on a triple swivel on the east end last Sept on vacation. I use 10# mono to hook up the weight so if it snags I can break it off with my 50# Power Pro and Seaguar leader and not lose the eel.

Can someone have a class? I got a bunch of eels frozen in my freezer that have asked to be rigged. Maybe if we get a bunch of people together who throw in a few bucks each for materials?

There are also posts I did around 97 on the wmi board if you can search that far backk still and more when I posted similar stuff back when Tim started sol. The sol thread had some discussions about why I prefer this method to using squids in terms of how you fish them and how imo the squids make it hard to fish them best because the squid can get hung up if you drag them across the bottom.
Do some searches , its worth the effort.

Clogs......Is that thigh..leading to a sandaled foot? What kinda site did you mistake this for?
Is the added epoxy on the hook to secure the head wrap, or for added weight? or both...or neither?
