I don't disagree Ronnie not one bit and I'm not arguing plug mortality here it's something that I don't like either but the guy is telling people that it doesn't kill the fish and I believe he's giving the wrong information.

I know there is a certain amount of fish killed with plugs I at least try to educate people and teach them how to use the stuff [properly to try to eliminate this from happening. I can't control what happens with my plugs after they leave but I'm sure not sitting here churning out a product that I know automatically increases the mortality rate on hooked fish like a skewer and a 1/4 pound of lead does.

I'll leave the plug business if you leave the charter business

Skitter difference between what? I made the comment in jest about the charter business but look at it this way. Ronny pointed out that there is mortality from my fishing lures. Well so is there from his business. He's a good fisherman that livelines pogies, trolls for tuna and last time I checked that involved break-offs too...and the similarity of it being an income source for him is the same as the plug business for me. Like I said I'm not going to argue fish mortality it's resulted in too many locked threads, but I believe this guy is representing this wrong and I'm going to stand up and say so.

And Mike I dunno what to say. I don't see a discussion of this throwing fuel on the fire to make people go out and try this. The stuff has been talked about quite a bit online already. I don't see it that way? I'd be interested in hearing your comments on what the guy does say after you do watch the video.

Hey Scott,

I should have added words. I meant I feel there is a big difference catching fish on plugs ( you can say yours) and Yo yahooing and leaving weights and what not inside fish still swimming.

I was agreeing with you.

Mike

Scott,
I was more referencing your last line "just another way to kill the resource"
I don't disagree that the guy was misrepresenting the facts.
nor am I going to say it's good for the resources of bass,
As Seadogg pointed of in another tread, there are ways to rig that can be far less harmful when yo yoing.
But I don 't think someone who profits from the kill of baby tuna (you came out with your plug "tuna tamer" with the explosion of guys doing light tackle) should be putting down another way of killing fish.
Anyone who knows anything about tuna knows prolonged battles with tuna and those fish are cooked, dead,ect....
I call that kind of hypocritical !
