yeah. From Bay Shore to Patchogue. I had a 21' Maryland sharpie clamming boat. Heavy as hell. Spent a good part of the summer living on our famlilys boat docked at Fire Island, clamming, and fishing and generally enjoying life. (a lot of clammers knew me as "Moby", jezzz thats going back a ways).
I heard they closed Barrett beach down...what a bummmer!
I have a close cousin that did a lot of commerical dredging in and around BluePoint. (owns a nice oyster farm now in Noank,CT...ever eat at Legal Seafood...thats them.)

I haven't pulled a rake in a looooooong time (and don't really want to). My kids want me to pick up few rakes for them to goof around with in the pond here. (non-commercial of course.) I was going to head over to this place on the cape that makes a ton of them (can't think of the name off hand) when it warms up. Don't want anything too big. I am more interested in steamers (any oysters) these days anyway.
