Habs picture on the front page startled me a little too -
I remember the shock and sadness of a year ago when I first read the news.

My thoughts and prayers have been with the family as the sad anniversary approached -

I think there's a part of him that will always be with us all as an example of a life lived well if way too short - but then I also firmly believe that strong spirits never really die.

Rest easy, John.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

I knew John very well. I tested his plugs back in 90 and 91 before he started selling them. John and I would meet at Home Depot in Smithfield and have coffee at Dunkin' right up the street. I saw John alive, for the last time, 3 days before he passed. He gave me a copper Nightin Gale on the Block the Fall before. I have never fished it but I may this week on the Cape to honor his passing.

RIP my friend. Perhaps I will see you again in the future.

No boat, back in the suds.

I was over the Habs house yesterday.Jess and Jr are doing ok ,all things considered. It's hard to grasp that John's been gone a year. Jr has been busy in the Habratory and he is doiong a great job, amazingly well for the short time he's been at it.Dad is most certainly smiling at his son's work.
