I'll be up early, wife leaves for the store at 0430. She works there.
LL BEAN in Mansfield. No use trying to sleep after first call, the dogs won't let ya.
But I am not going anywhere near there.
It's been crazy there the last 2 Saturday's.
Tomorrow is going to be really crazy.

I have been hitting the stores on black friday for the last 5-6 years. I don't mind staying up late, getting up early staying up all night, I do that to fish 7 months of the year.
I go in knowing and expecting a madhouse and that is part of the fun. The people watching is part of my enjoyment of the morning. I love watching people get unhinged (Larry I would have a ball watching you on Black Friday if you ever went out), and I have seen some folks go crazy over stupid nonsense like a $10 gift card.
And it does not have to be all bad or hectic..two years ago I started at Target (waited for the 6am opening since about 3am-was about #25 in line) and hit 5 stores in an hour and a half (this is all long rt 2 in Warwick) and was at work by 7:45 am.
Last year I waited in front of comp usa since 10pm the night before to get MANY great deals (all told I think I saved about $600 for stuff I would have bought anyway-this was the year that led right up to comp usa's demise). I was about #15 in line. I had a ball goofing around talking, joking, playing games with a bunch of folks who were also crazy enough to be out (the line at best buy was already around the building at 10pm).
I didn't go this year, because there not that many deals on stuff I was looking for (a GPS would be nice but I am not waiting all night to save $50), and franklly I think with the way the economy is right now, there may well be better deals to be had later in the season.

I'll be raking leaves, this is the first time off I've had in awhile. There has to be a better way.

Karl, you've probably got more job security than any of us -

All the shops I care about started their sales earlier in the week so my Black Friday shopping is already over...
Got some great deals. Now I just need to get XMas shopping done for the family.

Saks Off 5th at Wrentham. I was getting a little stir crazy on Wednesday and figured I needed to put my crutches through some trials
Overall the selection on the clearance racks was pretty lame though. 30% off of everything with an additional 20% off of clearance and outerwear.

No, I buy everything off-price and at a big discount. There's no way I could afford the stuff I buy at even 1/2 of retail.
I like nice stuff but I'm not rich, just smart
