How about Zappa doing the Allmans - the Professa oughta like this one -
"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
Well, this I would guess is a REAL obscure version of 'Whipping Post' performed by a young Emily Elbert...
I think Dad may have taped her performance at home - although I gotta admit her voice and style reminds me a lot of Ellen McIlwaine -
And who in the hell, you may ask, is Ellen McIlwaine?
Another very good bluesy/folksy type in Uncle Crafty's pile 'o' vinyl...
I probably shouldn't make jokes about this young lady - she may be a Grammy winner one day - her phrasing is actually pretty good for a kid.
Hey, you wanted obscure, right?

Uhhh... saw a couple more of Emily's tunes - I think it may be a while before she shows up as a Grammy nominee - hey, hang in there kid...
Another version of Whipping Post by Lina Koutrakis...
And who is Lina Koutrakis?
Damned if I know, but here she is performing at BB King's Blues Cafe -
So, can a Greek girl really sing the blues?
I dunno, the jury may still be deliberating on that one - although when she starts wailing at about 4 minutes into it she does sorta remind me of a coupla Greek women I've known...

LOL my friend and i used to say that all the time. Kind of became my nickname for a while. My name is Larry
Zappa also did lots of Beatles tunes too ,but with more risqué lyrics as I would expect. Like lucy in the sky with diamonds became Louisana hooker with herpes.
