Maybe they don't even make bulk boxes, only seen in 5 packs.

:raiders: This thing has been just crying to get used, especially after last week. 4-12 where the good ol' days.
Try this

Jon,

Just an FYI, but the real fishermen from Franklin use octopus hooks......

You can still change your screen name too. I'm actually thinking of changing mine to "rockhead" as I've been away from the sand for all too long now...Johnny Highhook has a nice ring to it...I'd go with that if I were you...

Nah....don't do that. Better to combine something that reflects the true loves in your life.......like baseball and eels. Have you considered "Slimeball" for instance?

These ones are like a semi-octopus style, not a straight J-style. They are the best I've used so far. The circlehooks pretty much guarantee me a eelball, especially with smaller eels.

You can get the gami octopus in boxes of 100 for about $35. Thats pretty much all I've ever used for eels and chunks. I like to snell all of my hooks, so the turned back eye on the octopus hooks helps facilitate the snell knot and the ability to snug it down. With the snell knot you get a good direct pull on the hook shank.
As for breakage, I've gone through thousands of these hooks and I believe I've had exactly one break in 15 or so years using them.
