Not that its original as I have seen similar.....but I have not done any like this! I am hoping the water pushing into the joint as it swims adds to the action??

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I think it will have a nice sexy wiggle. I've seen poppers like that (I think they are called Knucklhead poppers) but not metal lips.

happy to see them BF

i would think the water in the joint would cushion the wiggle a little bit since its denser than air is....

but yeah...it'll make it a little tighter ie awesome

would be cool to have a filmography of it in a tank that had
artificial current like those custom swimming pools do.

Looks awesome Larry. It also seems that cutting them that way makes thru wiring possible. When cut in the other direction the wrap has to be at the nose, which doesn't look as nice. Can't wait to hear how it swims!

That V notch I have seen in several FW swim baits. There are some clever hinges in some of them but I have not really fished them. The one I have that been playing with swims great esp at higher speed retrieves..I think in a rip this would be awesome.

The wood one is a recessed one I have been tweaking, I like the "hidden" nature of the joint.
