Red Sox
Looks like they are going to be playing for third place ?
I see nothing but holes on this team, and no improvements so far?
Looks like Theo and crew are looking on the scrap pile for players?
Rocco Baldelli, John Smoltz, please give me a break.
I don't know why they did not do the deal for Hanley Ramirez, I would move Buckholz, and Ellsbury in a heart beat.

heard that deal was for buckholz, ellsbury, andersen, and two more top prospects..i'd do it for the first two. we're not doomed if our health holds up and lowell and pappi come back close to form- we won 95 last year.

now, There's a defeatest attitude....
The Yank-mees may have spent a huge wad of cash but what makes you think they are a lock to win the division.
They lost a 20 game winner and replaced him with a guy who got shelled last year until he went to the national league.
They picked up another guy who has trouble making it through 2/3 rds of a season let alone an entire season.
and they picked up a new 1st baseman, who is probably the one I'd worry about the most, just because he is a huge upgrade at that position for them and will probably make gay-rod even better. (By the way I'm over the initial head-bashing over this one )
Tampa Bay did nothing to improve.....lets see if they can repeat last years success.
We'll be fine...there are always a couple of unknowns to any season.

Tampa picked up Pat Burrell form the Phillies 33 HR and 86 RBI. I think all the Rays need is a little more experience, now that they been to the big dance, they got it ?

The AL East is going to be a battle all year. I think the Sox have just as good a chance as the Yanks and Rays do. It would have been awesome to get Texiera, but will still have a very good lineup. They did pickup Brad Penny, who is a pretty good pitcher if he stays healthy.

ramone ramirez, smoltz (he pissed off and has something to prove), rocco, kotsay- not bigtime free agents but very good pieces. theo's not done yet- we'll compete this season.

The Captain situation is still not resolved.
Boras may be waiting until he gets the man boy signed with the Giants or Dodgers.
I am glad we passed on Lowe too, but wanted to see Byrd back in the rotation.
If Papi isn't back in form we are going to need some help to take it.

The Rays were a one hit wonder. They'll finish 4th this year--you heard it here first.
Don't forget that Sabathia has a lot of mileage on that arm for his age--the Brewers beat on him like a rented mule last year after the trade. Which is sort of what he was to them
He is no lock to pick up the 20 from Moose.

Yanks have proved it before, big signings mean squat.
Which reminds me...what's the difference between a Fenway Frank and a Stadium Dog (yanks version of FF).
You can't get a Stadium Dog in October!
Go Sox!
