The comparison is justified as I was drawing a paralell between the two as different hitters......here, let me draw you a picture. Rice=Power+ Average+ Hits+ Runs Batted In. Jackson= Power+ Runs Batted In+ just as many double plays and twice as many whiffs!

He is in....and that is all that matters.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Reggie played on lots more talented teams. What would have been if Rice played on those A's and Yankee teams? Bet things would have been different.

You're kidding me---Lynn, Yaz, Fisk, Evans, Burleson, Hobson, Cooper, Petrocelli. Later on Boggs, Greenwell, Gedman, Lansford, Baylor, Dave Henderson.

Yeah, Rice really played with a bunch of ham and eggers

You are putting words in my mouth. Re-read my post.....Jackson played for "more talented" teams. He did! Do you deny it? Rice played for some fantastic teams....but those A's and those Yankees were better teams....no?

No. The Sox and Yankees of Jackson's stint in the Bronx were even.

The Sox and Yankees tied in the regular season in 78, and the Yankees edged them by 2-1/2 games in 77.

The Sox beat Oakland in the 75 ALCS--swept them, in fact. Jackson was still with the A's then.

Rice came up in 75.

The Yankees won the pennant in 76 without Jackson, who was traded to Baltimore by the A's after 75.

How do you figure they were "more talented"?
