Good job ReelinRod - I'd carry more but that's about the max for the roof rack. Sometimes I'll put the 7'ers on my bunk or front mount so I can cram more on top. I need a different rod for different situations big fish small fish close fish far fish bluefish.

Usually 2 when hoofing the beach, 2-3 in the yak, and 2 - 4 when driving the beaches. Always have a spare 8 or 8 1/2 foot 2 piece and reel w/xtra spool under rear seat as a back up. Plus, a travel rod or two with reels under seat as well for fresh or schoolies. Now that I am starting to try conventionals as well, I may have more to bring in the future.

When I'm jetty fishing i'll bring 2 rods. I use a 1321M w/ vs200 most of the time but I'll also bring either another 1321M or a 10' honey lami w/ vs250 for some yanking power. Back bays and open beach i'll bring 2 rods. Arra 1204 vs150 if there are small fish around and my 1321M w/vs200. When i'm on my boat I bring way too many rods.

One rod goes with me for plugging. I like to travel light because I do a lot of walking. I also keep a 9' 2 piece and sometimes an 8' 2 piece in the trunk with a few extra reels and an extra plug bag.

I allways have at least two in the truck,( 1 spin, 1 conv) and a couple of fly rods behind the seat. When I'm walking or rock crawling just 1 with a spare spool, 2 if I'm staying put. When I'm driving the beaches-Rolling Tackle Shop!

I almost always have 2 on me just in case. On time I was out in the kayak in the middle of a school of bass and I got a nasty backlash, buck fever I guess. The spool was FUBAR, no chance of clearing it...that was the last time I brought one rod. 4-6 rods when I'm on the boat, just 1 7' spinning combo when the schoolies show up. Always 2 at the canal, it's definetely not worth the drive and walk to wad up a reel on the second cast

4 plus xtra spools to feed the seals. i keep 3 out and rigged so when a seal busts you off in the 10 min blitz at dawn thers no down time...... until you bust off the 3rd seal. been sealed as many as 6 times in a morning. anyone ever try seal nuggets?

I just spool up a beer can with 60# pound blue mono, use a spark plug for a sinker, scrap some dried squid of the jetty,make sure my filthy wife beater tank top is too tight, my hair net is in place and the neck tats are looking slick. I bolo that spark plug around my head a few times and let fly, sit back and hang with the "new americans". Where's my free stuff it's been over a month now, c'mon.

Most of the time I have one rod for the intended job and one two piece all around rod in the truck just in case.

In the fall in south county I usually have several rods. One for nightime plugging and eeling. One for schoolie blitzes. One for fishing in the current off the breachways and one to launch stuff as far as I can such as big poppers for bass or heavy metal like a needle eel for Albies and bonita.

rackot launchers I have two Allstar 1418 and a Century Tip Tornado light. the tip tornado will really send them if the lure is heavy enough. The allstar 1419 can do down to 3 well and 2 in a pinch but not well.

One rod when fishing the surf, two if fishing the canal because, well it's the canal. 5 or more when on the boat. I like the one rod the best. I try to go stealth, as little gear as possible to pick up and move fast. I target about 6-8baits I'm going to use and that is it. I use a rubber shad and jigs alot. Go light and move quick,and for the love ofGOD please wear a PFD!!! I hope someone's wife is reading this and forces her zipperhead husband to get a PFD!!!
