Spence, to me everything is wrong about this trip, The timing, the expense, the purpose, the people going... If you are going to be a leader then lead by example. If this doesn't bother you then i don't know what would. I for one am tired of being treated like second class citizens. They work for us. Not the other way around.

Divine intervention drew her to Rome so Pope Benedict XVI could chastise her along with Kennedy, Kerry and other professed Catholics for their Non-Catholic stance.

I dont think any senator or congressperson should go anywhere but their home state or the capital until we get out of this financial mess.
IMHO, it just shows arrogance to fly off with no reason, wtf is in Italy that is so important that she just drop out of the current situation?
I'd go to the Cayman's to check my unlisted account.

Normally, the jokes my father sends me are really lame...but I found this to be freaking funny...

Three dead bodies turn up at the mortuary, all with very big smiles on their faces. The coroner calls the police to tell them what has happened.
The Coroner tells the Inspector, "First body is a 72 year old Frenchman. He died of heart failure while with his mistress. Hence the enormous smile."
"The second body is an Irishman, 25 years of age. He won a thousand dollars on the lottery and spent it all on whisky. Died of alcohol poisoning, hence the smile. "
The Inspector asked, "What of the third body?" "Ah," says the coroner, "This is the most unusual one. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, 66, struck by lightning."
"Why is she smiling then?" inquires the Inspector. "She thought she was having her picture taken."

Although I've been a lifelong moderate/liberal I'm going to have to agree with my conservative friends (don't get used to it though!) on Ms. Pelosi....worst thing to ever happen to the democratic party...send her back to Calif. and hope for the big "quake".
