thanks for the heads up Mike,
i usually use 25# BCountry w/ 60#shock leader.
do you think that i'll realize any difference with 50# braid?

If you look at most brands of braid--there is a huge jump in diameter from 50# to 65#. You'll get more 50# braid on a 704 than 25# mono, but if you jump up to 65# you'll get about the same as 25# mono.

So how much better is Suffix to Power Pro?

is it a tight weave like Power Pro or is it lose like Fire Line?

It seems to be tighter - therefore smoother and it seems to hold it's finish better than Power Pro. Fireline seems flatter. Berkley has come out with a new braid also. I think it has alternating colors to help break it up in the water. I havn't seen it yet. I imagine it will be at the RISSA show.
