I like your attitude Paul - God hates a coward...

Picked up a coupla real nice boat rods over the winter...customs on J Kennedy Fisher blanks...they sure will be nice for live-lining or tossing big eels once the season gets rolling...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

let us know how it works for you. I am an avid bunker spoon user. I had one made by Mike at M&D's few years ago, made a decent difference. Get yourself one these and a safety line too if you don't already have them.

It was squalling last night on the ferry ride back from ACK. Hyannis at 9pm was blizzard like and a PIA driving home after a long day of working on the island. By the time we hit the canal it was gone.

Thanks Paul.
I had great results last year with the Montauk Bunker Spoons. Once the water heated up I was dragging wire in 50 to 80 feet of water off Newport and hammering nice fish. Nothing over 30# but I always had fish.
I had read, over the winter, about a longer rod made for the big swing the bunker spons do so I picked up this rod from a guy in Quincy on the other board. I'll let you know how it works out.
