garbage disposal
dumped some peanut butter down the drain. now it makes a humming sound and no grinding sound. i did the flywheel thing with the allen wrench. it spins manually, but no motion when you turn it on. still humms.
any tips. or just buy another one.

I would say it is junk if it is spinning free and just hums
I just replaced mine and the same thing happened
I bet it wasn't the peanut butter that did it, it was just it's time to die
your lucky to get five years out of one now a days

replace it. The stainless steel ones at the balls, and get the 1 hp. You can throw friggin anything in it

thanks guys. i got it working again by filling up the basin with hot water and flushing it down. but i might just buy a 1 HP one this summer.
