it's a huge relief to know that when the tax cuts expire, noone's taxes wil be increasing...thanks clearing that up Spence Alynski
So far, they haven't increased, have they?
If you go to the Providence one, say hi to Fat Allen from WPRO, he'll be there. He was talking about moving out of RI, they'll have to find someone else to bridge the time slot from Dan Yorke to Michael Savage...

spence, you are continually wrong on this issue. there is a tax rate which is applied to taxable income. Obama's plan will raise the taxable income by reducing deduction amounts. PLUS the tax rate increase, which as you stated is letting the previous tax cuts expire.
PLUS city and states are raising taxes. PLUS comsumers will carry the burden of the energy taxes Obama is proposing. In an economy Obama keeps telling us is an extreme recession, we CONTINUE to pummle the people that earn money. Just ask yoursefes the most basic question - since when has government spending helped ANYTHING?????
The solution has been tax, tax, tax, spend, spend, spend.

pay attention...2010...until then, we will apparently just keep printing money....
the "Tea Parties" are not "mostly driven by the visceral reaction to our new president Obama's huge increase in taxes"....to say that shows a clear lack of knowledge and extreme bias....
they are a protest of the Federal Government engaged in massive deficit spending, usurpation of states right's and a general opposition to a large centralized oppressive Washington bureaucracy....not that complicated...
we've been through this before....
it's sad to see people that work hard for the money that they earn to support their families and take the time to protest the impending involvment of a massive government in every aspect of their lives ridiculed and characterized as "extremists"by the media and the elites....
what they should have done was called themselves a million man minority protest against the lack of free government services for illegal aliens and pirates...then they would have gotten adoring press coverage for weeks and weeks...
Crunch/BSSB, you make us that lean left look bad with this BS.
A far as the tea party, Matt Allen was all excited about it... what was accomplished? Anything? Attention? If the right was that organized in Oct, Obama et al would have lost... so what happened?

So is protesting and activism a soul right of the left? You guys mad that someone else can hold a sign?
Nope.
But I guess I view the same as an anti-Iraq war protest, looks good but what was accomplished?
I'm not taking away from their right to protest, I just thought he was way too excited about what it meant (and thought the Tea-party references were funny, since the real tea party was protesting something a bit different; if they feel it is taxation w/o representation, then vote someone else into office!)

It isn't just about BHO's policies, it is about Government at EVERY level being elected by special interests and then catering to the special interests. It is about the people who produce being fed up. I hope the trend continues.
I have been saying "They threw tea in the harbor for less" for at least the last three years.

FP, that's all well and good, but did it accomplish anything? The way Fat Allen was prattering on you would have thought the state cut taxes by 25% yesterday...
And I for one Buckman am not a mindless sign-holder.
I write letters when I get annoyed

Here's some unbiased reporting from your favorite liberal ( except Lou Dobbs) news outlet .....
Oh my god! That is the most ridiculous display i have seen BY A REPORTER!!!!! Not a panel member, not a opinion show, a reporter!. Nah, she has no bias!
Spence will tell me there is no media bias.
there is no media bias
there is no media bias

yes Brian, it showed American via TV thats its not just fat cat wealthy people frustrated with spending and taxes. Those are average Americans.
I have a challenge for any of you, go to you tube and search on Bush protests. compare the "tea" protests to the Bush protests.
If you had to hire 10 people to work for you and had to choose from the two groups protesting, which one would you choose?
Its a no brainer. Think of that when you reflect on who this president represents. Scary
Union guys are prancing around all the time holding signs. Most of them are Right wing.
Teachers?
Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

RIRockhound, I don't think anyone here would lump any of you lefty's in with that guy. It's not about politics with him, it's about personal insecurities and a lack of self-worth.

This is a very skewed and misleading "challenge."
I haven't watched much about the tea parties. But, it would be of no surprise to me that educated people are the ones at these tea parties when you consider the subject. A majority of the changes to the tax code have limited effect on people making under $75,000, thus they have no reason to take the day off from work (if they have a job) to hold a sign with some "clever" wording on it that uses the acronym CHANGE.
Why would the lower paid (and presumably lower educated) go out to these protests then?
Those weren't "Average Americans." The average American was at work that day, making $35,000/year and will benefit from the new tax codes.
On the other hand, the protests against Bush affected every aspect of this country, from the lowest paid (and jobless) to the highest paid.
In general, you know who you see at protests? Idiots. This isn't 1950 any more, no one cares about protests. The news covers protests so they have something to get people worked up about, but 99% of the people watching aren't going to do a damn thing.
You know what I do when I don't like something? I make a phone call or, more often now, write an email. Why? Because it's more effective.
One other thing about the protests. The people that are protesting aren't really protesting government spending and taxes. They're still pissed about losing in November. And that is the number one reason why I don't care about these "tea parties."

interesting that you say that the tax changes will not impact people making under 75K, I could have sworn Obama said he wouldnt raise taxes on anyone making 250k
And its also interestng that you dont think Obamas spending will impact all facets of society, we'll see
The AFL-CIO is the largest Union in this country and it leans significantly Democratic.
I didn't even pick up on it. I haven't had my coffee yet.

It's not fair! McCain had the election stolen from him by the communist left. They rigged the election. Obama is not MY President. I answer to GOD, and I keep my gun loaded. All you little whining liberals better stay off my lawn. grrrrrrrrr
Currently, 61% of Americans approve of the way that Barack Obama is handling his job as president while 26% disapprove.
