First keeper for my son

Just put the boat in on Friday afternoon and my 9 year old wanted to take a run. We caught a single mackerel out off of Hull and brought it back into Boston Harbor to live line. Within 5 minutes he pulled in this 40 inch / 22 lb striper. Nice start to the season. especially since we didn't get much of anything last year.

Very nice. He's doing better than most of us right now......

Nice bait to keeper ratio he's got going on? 1 mack = 1 keeper! Not to shabby!

Alot of members of this site have been very generous to my son Matt, He even might have been one of the first kid's on the site. Now it's time to take care of some the other young ones who enjoy fishing.

that's awesome. Get them interested when they are young and you'll have a fishing partner for life.

Tell lil Joe, "Awesome Job!". all three of my kids are jealous of him. So far they've only caught a couple shorts, (24"-26"). Thats a Great Fish!
So who's more proud Joe or Dad? (I'm betting it's Dad).

Looks like you are out of Hewitts as well. Congrats... I'm hoping to find some mackerel myself one of these days...

Real nice job on the keeper, I'm jealous. Also, another nice job on the free jig, Link Sr. Nothing keeps kids coming back like getting recognized and maybe a little free prize. I'm sure he'll be dying to use it.
