no offense, not trying to be a jerk.....nice fish but it looks a little thin for 42.......36 maybe ?

You may be right - or not. According to Rick, the angler, weight estimate was based on tables that account for length and girth measurements. The fish was released to fight another day.
Maybe you could post a couple pics of your 40's to give us a better idea of what they should look like?
