I think the state makes thier own signs. They used to anyway. Paul is right though, visual polution, it almost as bad as the trash on the GD ground.

Gota love them when on the road..Radio reports as to where the speed traps are when traveling un familiar roads.

I'd like to know the cost of one of them  .I want the contract to replace the ones that get taken out by the snow plows.Maybe they should be different colors for N,S,E,W.

Those signs are replacement for decent paving. Driving on MA roads is the pits. Asphalt peeling and chuck holes everywhere, but we now have some very nice signs.

We were in New Hampshire this weekend, and they're every .2 miles across the line along 93, too.
My guess is that they're Federally funded.

They have been in use for as long as I can remember, Are the signs you are referring to new? I think they were part of the highway building after WW2. If you were ever "on the road" you would have seen them in all states.
