For that kind of money you would hope it would be a little bit more pretty to look at.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

Not until Zeebass includes a tin of Beluga, George...

God, that is one fugly reel...

Reminds me of the most recent reincarnation of the 2 seater T-Bird - and just as likely to head right down the porcelain convenience with it...

If Harley Davidson could regain it's reputation and market share - or a good part of it, anyway - without making a Harley look like a rice-burner or a BMW touring bike, why couldn't Penn design a reel that took advantage of their past success and incorporate a sealed drag and gearcase?

I dunno, maybe the fly in the ointment is still finding the price point everyone wanted to go with it - can't have it both ways, I guess...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

That was my first thought. Kinda ugly.

Why not just buy a VS? Same dough, and proven.
