How do you tell if its a female horseshoe crab?

I mean, are there any key identifying features?

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

They have little tiny breasticles, Mike, but you have to look closely...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Good Gawd, it is not all that hard. Just ask it "what's for dinner?" and if it tries to strangle you it's a female.
