The new GM-
After the Emergency, Emergency bail out of GM with American tax payer money,
and we have become shareholders, it was reported today they will be buying their parts from Russia backed Magna.
No wonder Putin and his KGB friends were smiling at Obama this week.
We, our jobs, and country are being sold down the river.

The only reason Ford was able to keep their head above the water is because of all their government contracts.
They're only slightly different from GM or Chrysler, in my opinion.

You could blatantly put words into my mouth, or completely contort what was said.... Irrational, nonsense comments is business as usual for you though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need a revolution. The reason that this country is in the crapper is that the good manufacturing jobs have been sent overseas. Without those jobs, the domestic manufacturers have no customers. Making anything with cheap labor is pointless if in the process you kill off your customers. The elimanation of tariffs to protect domestic jobs was just grease on an already slippery slope.
Now we're forced to buy stock in a company that's stuck to the bottom. And they call it success.....

Could the answer be as simple as not sending in any tax money for them to play with?????

I don't know if this argument is really even relative any more, the auto industry is one gigantic global supply chain. There's no such thing as an American car any more.
Magna is a Canadian company by the way.
If you want to buy a car with mostly US parts and assembled in the US - - - get a Toyota.

The argument is still valid in that the workers who made GM parts for the old GM in the US will be out of work.
Magna is a Canadian company with a Russian holding of 35% by Sherbank owned by The Bank of Russia.
You are right Spence, there is no such thing as an American car anymore.
I can remember going back 20 years when the windshields for GM cars were made in Brazil.

What percentage of GM parts do you think were made in the US before this announcement? I believe a lot of them came from Canada and China.
I guess to say the argument is valid, you'd really have to know the net job loss this agreement might cause, or if there even really is one...
And who cares if profits are split with a holder in Russia? Hell, we already give much of our wealth to China and Saudia Arabia!

I couldn't tell you the %. As i mentioned GM was using windshields made in Brazil 20 years ago, so this is nothing new.
The report i heard on the news was a loss of 1200 jobs.
Not a lot,I guess, by today's job losses, unless of course you are one of the 1200.
Ya you are right, we already give China and Saudi Arabia much of our wealth,
are you saying we should give the rest of it away too, or split it amongst ourselves and pay down our debt
Americans need to take care of Americans first, and make it easier to keep jobs here by having less regulation and taxes.

If at the end of the day there is still an auto industry in this country, then it was worth much more than we gave them.
Mexico is a failed narcostate. They can't even get Tamiflu distributed to people who don't live in urban centers.
