I would use a polyurethane and thinner combo to seal,,,, then use rattlecan primer,,, fastest and pretty good way,,,, That's what I've been doing. Been using mineral spirits rather than thinner, but it's basically the same. I've been letting them sit for a week but that's just because i don't have a hot dry spot to hang them. Basement is humid. Furnace isn't giving off much heat these days .
