Friend gave me a bunch of lures
Several brand new Spoffords whose sale price as mark was $3.95 still in the package and many, many other brand new lures.
Of note in the bag was a BIG SISTER Goo Goo Eyes 2 1/8 oz. lure (that I have never owned before) with a price of $6.00 on the package, and two Splashing Poppers, made by Island Lure of Fairhaven, one fluorescent orange and one yellow over white with a sales price of $6.50 on them both and they were sold at P & J Bait. I doubt I'll take these out of the bag and just hang them on the wall. All three lures were made using screw eyes, they were not through-wired.
There are a total of about 30 lures in the grab bag, all new. My friend is 78 years old and just started dating a woman the same age. She gave them to him tio give to me, because she is cleaning out her deceased husbands things. What a treasure trove, and what a nice thing to do.

You may have some real "treasures", if some of the lures are unused and still in original package. It may be worth having them looked at to see if your friend gave you more than "just lures".
Either way, you have a good friend and some good lures!

Somewhere a dead fisherman is smiling.......both because someone who appreciates it ended up with his stuff...and because he didn't fish eels and go to hell.

The Goo Goo Eyes lure has to be an original and will never see water or be let out of the package. The same goes for the two Chopper-Stopper bluefish poppers from Island Lures of Fairhaven, which are in the original bags along with the insert all with the staples still in place.
Never heard of Chopper-Stopper lures before has anyone else?
