Asshats
So I am anchored up fishing this rip yesterday, and as I am reeling in another fish a guy that was motoring by suddenly stops, and drifts aft of me about 50 yards and anchors off of my port. So I don't say anything to the guy as there are a few boats anchored up about 300-500 yards behind me and I am still hooking fish. Well doesn't a couple of different boats try and anchor a couple hundred yards off his stern too and he gets all pissy throwing his hands up in the air and screaming at them bloody murder. What a #^^^^&head. He didn't catch any fish anyway but he ruined the nice day I was having with one of my friends.

Thats nothing !!!
Yesterday we were out on the tuna grounds and after we got another Ho Hum 65 in tuna we went off to cod fish.
Cod fished for about an hr picking up around 25 keeper cod when a gill net boat ( I later found out out of Gloucester) was coming up on me and set his gear very close to me.
The guy is laughing as he says to me "hows the fishing"
I say to him "you got to be kidding me, your setting your gear right on top of me"
The lunatic goes into a screaming fit "your fishing in my F***ing ocean, I fish here 12 F***ing months a year, I own this F***ing ocean, ect.......
Some more heated exchanges went back and forth.
Next thing the guy starts driving his (larger) boat at mine and is going to ram my boat with his ! I quickly start my motor and full throttle away as he just misses hitting me.
Some more exchanges go back and forth with this nut case, he starts to drive away, turns back towards me and tries to ram my boat again.
About 1/2 hr later the environmental boat out of Boston comes over to us.
I tell the officer who came aboard my boat my story.
As soon as I describe the guy and his boat the officers eyes roll and he tells me "they are very familiar with the guy and the Gloucester court system is very familiar with the guy.
The environmental police and coast guard are now investigating it.

Must have been the weekend for it.
Took a cruise out to the Isles of Shoals with the wife, daughter and
4 year old grandson for a seal watch and some trolling. On the way back in I was avoiding lobster bouys and another boat was doing the same comeing toward me. We were passing each other port to port slowly and some yahoo in a 25 footer barreled right between us only about 20 feet from my port side.
All the other opperater and I could do was hang on and wonder what the hell that numbskull was thinking when he did that. No reason for it other than pure ignorance. Sometimes you wish you had a torpedo tube loaded and primed out there.

Couldn't have been a gillnetter from Gloucester, they are such a pleasant bunch
Always call the coast guard or enviromentals, a camera is a plus too.
Another tip, always look for a gillnetter, most look like lobsta boats. You see him a couple hundred yards away get off of your spot, make it look like you are trolling or just going along, once gone, go back to that spot where you were catching. Sometimes they will sit off a ways and glass you and if they see you catching they will be over.
