For those keeping score
Looks like the Obama admin is going to keep the 2 pieces of the Patriot act that are going to expire.......AHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA there go my civil rights!
We're still at war in 2 countries, and nothing, nothing is getting better.
Despite warning of a CATASROPHE....and emergency legislation, little stimulus $ was spent, however we are out of the recession.
The country is more divided under Obama than under Bush, Obama's ratings continue to slide.
Anyone remember that wall street bonus stuff I was all worked up about, funny how that all disappeared from the press once it became obvious that Geithner asked to have the language removed from the bill......
So, serioulsy, whats the "change"?
If Obama was actually accumulating points for his wins, he'd have a pretty low score. The only thing I've been happy about is when we shot some Somali Pirates.
Instead of the usual banter, can someone tell me an Obama win?

Well, yesterday, they killed some key terrorists in a helicopter strike in Somalia. Suspect Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, a leader of Al Qaeda-linked terror organization al-Shabab, was killed in the strike, highlighting the administration's commitment to pursue terrorists wherever they may be. We've been after him for years, now he's dead.
African politicians have repeatedly called for a law-enforcement approach to stopping suspected terrorists on the continent but Obama ordered the attack anyway. I guess his Kenyan roots are not influencing African policy as it relates to terrorism.
Now is where you tell me that I don't listen or understand.

Yes.
He's taking page from the "Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance" playbook.
Pursue Al Qaeda in Afghanistan or Pakistan and find bin-Laden. Then, knock him out with a bunch of Sam Adams beers (Muslims are notorious lightweights) and surreptitiously stick a microchip in his beard so you know where he is at all times. Then, kill his as_s a week before the next election and show the pictures to an adoring public right before American Idol comes on.

That sounds like your opinion, Spence. Not a very strong defense of your guy.

No, the Whitehouse said they were open to it when they agreed to keep the provisions set to expire, and Congress has talked about introducing additional legistlation to help ensure privacy.
It's not like it happens overnight.

Yeah, just what I thought. Very vague and wishy washy. They ar "open to it" and Congress has "talked about additional legislation". Doesn't sound very convincing to me.
But you go ahead and "don't stop believing" just like your favorite 80's band used to sing.

Thats great news Joe, but isnt that what Bush/Cheney were doing? Im really looking for what Obama has done. He was marketed as this big agent of change, but there is nothing really new that he has accomplished.

It's not too hard to find a list of executive orders and signed legislation. Specifically, I think lifting the ban on stem cell research and restoring science to it's rightful place is very significant.
There's one less notorious terrorist bent on our destruction than there was yesterday - it's an accomplishment anyway you slice it. The president has proven that he's not weak on terrorism - far from it. Moreover, success or failure in ongoing operations is not negated by virtue of being the second commander to oversee operations. If that was the case, George McClellan would be on the fifty-dollar bill instead of Grant.

Here's some that a few of you can't recall;
•Because of President Bush’s determination to keep America safe after 9/11, the Bush doctrine was born. We would not wait to be attacked again. The United States would go on the offense and stop our enemies before they had a chance to kill us again.
•Liberation of Afghanistan from the Taliban, and helped establish a democracy.
•Liberation 25 million Iraqis from the dictator of Saddam Hussein.
•Captured Saddam Hussein and placed him on trial for the brutal murder of his own people.
•Reorganized the Department of Justice and the FBI to focus on preventing terrorism.
•Created the National Counterterrorism Center, where personnel from Federal, State, and local departments and agencies work side by side to track terrorist threat reporting and prevent new attacks.
•Captured Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the master mind of the September 11, 2001 attacks on our country.
•Worked with Congress to enact the USA PATRIOT Act – breaking down barriers that had prevented America’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies from sharing vital information on terrorist threats.
•Secured Congressional approval of legislation allowing our intelligence community to effectively monitor foreign terrorist communications – to help us learn who the terrorists are talking to and what they are planning.
•Secured Congressional approval of the Military Commissions Act so that captured terrorists acto justice for their acts.
•Doubled the number of Border Patrol agents to more than 18,000, and increased their funding by more than 60 percent.
•Disrupted terrorist plots and built a coalition of more than 90 nations to fight terrorism.
• Secured a commitment from North Korea to end its nuclear weapons program.
•Persuaded Libya to disclose and dismantle all aspects of its WMD and advanced missile programs and renounce terrorism.
•Withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and operationalized missile defense to keep America safe.
•Dismantled the A.Q. Khan nuclear proliferation network.
•Halved the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile five years ahead of schedule.
•Helped save millions of lives through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the President’s Malaria Initiative.
• Committed $350 million over five years to treat more than 300 million • people suffering from seven neglected tropical diseases and became the first, and largest, contributor to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
• Provided more than $16 billion for global food aid and more than $10 billion for disaster relief and other humanitarian efforts worldwide since 2001.
•Held public schools accountable, through the No Child Left Behind Act, for producing results for all students and required highly-qualified teachers in every classroom.
•Increased the size of college Pell Grants to an all-time high and nearly doubled support for the Pell Grant program.
• Provided more than 40 million Americans with better access to prescription drugs through the market-based Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.
•Created USA Freedom Corps following 9/11 to help Americans volunteer to serve causes greater than themselves.
•Helped millions in need by expanding partnerships with nonprofits and leveling the playing field for faith-based and community organizations.
•Reduced the number of homeless veterans by nearly 40 percent from 2001 to 2007.
•Helped make broadband access available in 99 percent of America’s zip codes.
•Created a new National Space Policy to ensure the continued free access and use of space for peaceful purposes and to help advance America’s economic competitiveness.
•Killed the silly Kyoto Global Warming Treaty.
•Provided more than $6.5 billion to repair and improve our national parks, launched the National Parks Centennial Initiative, and established the Preserve America Initiative with First Lady Laura Bush to protect our cultural and natural heritage.
•Protected the right to vote for generations to come by reauthorizing the Voting Rights Act and advanced civil rights.
•Rescued more than 575 children from sexual exploitation, arrested and convicted thousands of suspects, and helped recover nearly 400 missing children since 2002 by strengthening the AMBER Alert program.
•Enacted the Do Not Call List, which 145 million Americans have utilized to reduce unwanted telemarketing calls.
•Outlawed partial birth abortion, ensured that every infant born alive is protected, established consequences for violence toward unborn children, and took steps to protect the rights of health care providers to act according to their conscience.
•First president to provided government funding for stem cell research while refusing to sanction the destruction of human life.
•Prohibited foreign nongovernmental organizations that receive U.S. tax dollars for family planning from performing or actively promoting abortion.
•By Executive Order (EO), reversed Clinton’s policy of not requiring parental consent for abortions under the Medical Privacy Act.
•Appointed Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Associate Justice Samuel Alito, and more than one-third of all active Federal judges, who will not legislate from the bench.

I just skimmed through this, didn't read them all... but at least half of them are not accomplishments, nor items I would be bragging about if I were on the Right.
Let's not forget that Bush finished with an approval rating of 22%. This country isn't 78% liberal.

What 50% don't you like?
The media did a number on Bush. It became "oh so cool" to be a Bush basher for the young and uninformed, hollywood losers, and the lifetime "activist". You can't disagree with that.
Despite the love affair with Obama, his approval rating won't be any higher when he leaves.

Bush did a number on Bush. Blame the messenger all you want, but it was the Policy and attitude that did Bush in...not the media.
As for Obama, his approval is about where it should be looking at historical records. Where it ends will be up to his success as Presidency which is still very young.

In 3 more years the fairy land will crumble. It's being pushed along on mis-truths, false numbers and a cocky attitude. All real numbers prove this administration misses their estimates by a factor of 3. What do we do with Gitmo in 4 months. my guess nothing. The wars, no better. Health care, a disaster in the making.
Maybe the economy turns around without the stimulas money being spent on any meaningful programs. It could happen if you close your eyes and tap your shoes together.
