I put it up there as I noticed that while we having some fun & grins a little earlier today with that TP thread that runeth over, we are still living in a difficult time. And as hard and difficult that may seem to us right now, it's a far cry from what "our guys & gals" may be going thru over seas right now.
I'm sure that our guys and gals over there will want us to continue to have fun and live our life in freedom and harmony as Americans from the USofA. We will honor them for that but we cannot forget what they do for us.
Things are going to get real busy and real violent there in the very near future and they will need whatever support from us, even if only a prayer.
I would like to see if there is a couple things we can do, as a site of anglers, to help "our guys & gals" over there. If anyone has some suggestions, lets put them up here. But I was thinking that with a lot of members of our local National Guard having left their families to head overseas or to other parts of the country to support our nation, not just Iraq & Afghanistan, that maybe someone here would be in the know of a way that we can take some of their kids fishing on one day. Something like that, show them a good day while their parents are away from them.
This is just an idea that I've been thinking of since the latest round of hostilities began and I am open for suggestions. I am also looking for a volunteer to take the lead on this if / when we come up with a way that a group of "anglers" can help.
Thanks,
John

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

Probably not - I think that will only be up when we have a lot of our people in Harm's Way. And all it is intended to be is a small symbol, a small token of respect for ours "over there" wherever "over there" happens to be at the time.
We are a site of avid saltwater anglers and when things approach some kind of normalcy we should be just that and run normal but when things are as they are now. When policy is being implemented, no longer with paper, but with the guys at the pointy end of the spear, we'll humbly use that it as a constant reminder as to why our people are over there...
