Ouch! Thanks for the tip (no pun intended ); I bring a second rod when I make it BI.

Were you able to salvage the rod?

Yes ..Rod is fine with 2" off the top .. DZ had another tip for me ,as the original did not fit 2" down .. Rod still cast and fished 1.5 ounce bucktails fine . Yep .. I had an extra rod,,2 reels,, and spools of braid with me .. I know me .

Glad it was just the tip, Tagga.
I went down like a sack of potatoes last night in a rogue wave, sacrificed rod and reel to King Neptune.

Just need Clammer to round things out.

Easy there killer - hope you get your rod back.

Actually, Clammer tends to drive over rods between the reel seat and the first collector guide so no - not the same.
