The jigs really depend on the rubber being used. Some of the softer rubber will tear almost every fish or at least messed with , some of the harder rubber will split with the barbed holders. It really is up to the user what combo they want. I have a brain storm for really the ultimate jig that would take alot of abuse as long as there are no yellow eyed devils. No slipping, no spliting, no glue. I know that earlier this season I rigged my rubber in a similar way and was able to get over 20 bass on a single rubber but on top. There was one rod that I had rigged that went something crazy like 3 charters/trips down the rips, bailing fish with the same rubber.
