Christmas Eve, Italian style...

Cod, Calamari, Scallops, smelt, shrimp, sword fish, raw oysters Haddock, ham, sausage, bakala, spanakopita, stuffed mushrooms, 2 lasagnas, cheese, dip and veggies, fruit, cookies, cakes, 10 different kinds of beer, rum nog, choc liquor and many other great drinks and the list goes on ...... italians.. go big or go home

Oh God,my father used to cook baccala.The smell would leave the house around Valentine's Day.

Now THAT brings back memories !!!

I could never get used to smell of baccala...You would come back from the church and the whole house would be filled with aroma of baccala, leeks and veggies...as much as i hated it, it does remind me of much simpler times in my life

My house will smell like a fish market for the next month or so. Ah baccala, so good though and something else that might scare some people that i love to eat is tripe. All and all I hope everybody's holidays went well.

Don't force it feel it.

My father ate tripe too,and yes it did scare me off.

That makes our stuffed quahogs, cod, mussels & pasta, littlenecks, and lobster bisque xmas eve dinner look like a little snack! I wish I took a picture of the food my aunt and mother made. What a feast!
