Its not that I wanted them to Bruce.....but they threw an opportunity out the window. They are paid to play football......so you play the game! They could get hurt at any time......so play the game. They robbed their fans and themselves of the possibility of making history.....and even if they win the superbowl......the fact that they opted to "play it safe".....will stick in their throats for all time! If our Patriots had laid down like that I would have lost all respect for them...but Belichek has too many balls to lay down like the Colts team and their management did!

I didn't watch the game but saw the highlights. What a weird year for NE fans to be watching the playoffs without our Pats. I have no idea how to feel. I can't stand the Colts or the Jets. I hope New Orleans wins it all. It would be good for that city and the region to have a champion.

i agree 1000% w/ this. YOU NEVER LAY DOWN IN FOOTBALL. at least real coaches don't anyway. bring'em on. i'm a "classless" jets fan (according to one of you guys!!). we can win the whole thing and most people will still say we suck. good for them. sports is about gettin' the farthest in the season. so, does that mean we "have a better team" than the chargers? i'll leave that to you, but WE ARE STILL PLAYING BY THE WAY!
imo belechick did well with a much diminished team/staff that is a work in progress and the jets did well with a work in progress....ps i grew up a jim plunkett fan, i've never hated the pat's, but i LOVE the venom my neighbors have for us!

Good for your team. I respect how they play even though I would never root for them. My obnoxious fan comment was more toungue and cheek and a little jealousy. Enjoy your time now if they go all the way cuz it can ghange oh so fast.

thanks man but none of this stuff bothers me! its all tongue in cheek! it truly sucks being a jets fan, because of all the pain that comes with it. i cheered louder yesterday than when my Yanks won the series, because when you are so used to misery and watching games slip away, you gotta celebrate when you can. bring on those "lay down" till it counts colts....hey, we beat'em in '69 and they were bigger favorites then.....

I understand and agree. It is also going to be hard to root for either team.
It's Belichick btw
I think Peyton Manning is the best in football right now, and there'd be nothing better for me to see him knocked down a few notches next Sunday. Maybe the Jets D can pound him right out of the game early, otherwise it's gonna be a battle,
Congrats to you Jet fans , I wish the Pats had a D like yours.

Watch--how much do you want to bet that the Jets will get about 80-100 yards in penalties called against them?
They're going to get a classic Indy home job. Polian is probably already sending tape of Revis making contact beyond 5 yards to the league office. I expect at least two crucial pass interference/illegal contact calls against the Jets next week.
No team gets the home calls like Indy does.
Besides, the NFL wants a Favre/Manning SB matchup. While the Jets play in NY, they really don't have many fans outside of the tri-state area. The NY teams don't have national followings like Dallas, GB or Oakland, so they'd prefer the "star power" QB matchup.

Absolutely that will happen
No team gets the home calls like Indy does
I agree 1000%
Even this past weekend's game, early in the game it was 3rd down, pass copleted by Dallas Clarke and he slides across the first down line. His knee was down well before the point where the ball was across the yardage needed but of course the official gives it to them because it's the Colts I have DVR and immediately rewound it and paused, he was atleast 3 feet short. Then they hurried the next play of course. The League cow towws to the colts like no other team.

I truly believe the NFL wants Manning in but I'm not sure that they really loose if Farve insn't in the big game. There's a lot of spin the league can use about how having a franchise in New Orleans helped get the city back on it's feet post Katrina. Now that's a real feel good story plus with the game in FL there would be a ton of Saints fans I'm sure.
