The misses and I have gone for bike rides out there a few times. It's a pretty cool place to check out if you've never seen it.

lots of trails through the woods there too.

Fishing in the moonshadow of the golfball used to be one of my favorite pastimes.

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.

It sure gets spooky as it starts getting dark.

Do a bunch of walks up there over the winter.

The first time, I scaled the fence to get a close-up look at some of the buildings - thought the Men in Black were going to come knocking at my door after that - who knows, maybe they did?

Always thought it would be great for affordable housing, or some big summer camp for dis-advantaged kids, all those houses - which probably would require knock-down - but still, what a place!

The only fence that was a bit intimidating for me to get close to is the one around the golfball. Maybe it's the signs that claiming an open shoot-to-kill order for trespassers.

You really want that much affordable housing moving into Truro? The summer camp is a really good idea. There's a ton of land for activities and whatnot.

My father was a Ssgt there around 1952-3 involved in radar. He's retired in Yarmouth now. As of last summer his picture was still on the plaque by the ball field by the front gate, he played for the base team which was actually an adjunct from Otis. We go out there walking around once or twice a year, inside and outside the fence. He just tells anyone who asks, when he was stationed there and that he's showing me around the place and we always get the go-ahead, unescorted. He's attends many of the talks given by the Parks folks and a few times (nicely though) even corrected them about certain things. There's been things torn down and things built up since he was there, but he still remembers it all and enjoys talking about climbing the poles and the guys that he was stationed with and what you could do in what building. Lotta foxes, birds and squirrels around the woods, and that view off the dunes by the Audobon shed is one of my favorites. I find the place a littl eerie, rather than scary. It mostly looks in pretty good shape but weird absolutely no people around. I'm sure I could arrange a private tour for anyone interested.

Not everyone in Truro is wealthy. Maybe some of the local kids could stay local if they could buy an inexpensive starter home.

There's so much deserted housing out on otis/ camp edwards.......all those houses going to waste......5 miles away hard working families on the upper cape can't afford/find housing.
