Plug Fest Ethics

Is it kosher to bring a camera and take pics of plugs? I'm sure I'll see some paint schemes or designs that are inspiring...But I don't want to look like a cheeseball bringing a camera, either. I won't have any plugs to trade (next year).

Heck yes! I always bring one and forget to use it or can't figure it out..Most of the time I just wander around stunned at what I'm seeing all around me. This year I'll get pix for sure.

Always bring a camera
it can be overwhelming and you'll be glad you have some pics to look back on later.

I always bring my calipers, you can even bring Verniers if you want to go old school. I intend to use them on something Lu is bringing if he is lucky enough to borrow it and remember it.

We're hobbyists. We are in this for fun. Secrets don't get us anything. Measure what you want. I'll have xrays as well.

digital ruler

and to explain how ya can use it

i'll use the Greeks awesome PLUG as an example ok

you go to Web Design and Development Tools and download it for free

then this ruler can sit on top of any picture on your PC

when ya check the box " stay on top "

then if ya know the hook size or there's a quarter in the pic
you can determine the measurements fairly accurately
and i'm sure the BASS won't mind if your a Centimeter off.

it can be configured to millimeters, centimeters, or inches.
you stretch the ruler and it tells you length or width
right in the center of the ruler

here's the example photo i mentioned above

numbskull,
I am the lurking lurker who lurks, and occasionally will throw out some inane comments when the cabin fever gets to me.....I wish I was getting up to Plugfest, but won't be......but I do like looking at the insides of plugs, so keep the x-rays coming!

And Professor, verniers? Really? All those little lines would just make me squint real hard till I got a headache......

actually NO SALTYDOG

i would never imagine receiving
that nice a plug from a Ho -Job

his photo was the first one i came across
in the plug building forums
to illustrate the free web ruler that i use for art every day
for measuring - so i can make things match up... for size

and it's my wall paper now......yes, because it "is"
a great color and a beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful plug
and you see....leos love all things GOLD

i've given away as many plugs than i have received as gifts

personally tho ...i don't enjoy rejection so i would never ask,,,

someday tho.....maybe...when i finally get back to building plugs again...

unfortunately my set of buck lathe tools were stolen after the fire

while we were living in the Motel.....for 7 long weeks

i was so pissed off i moved back into my ancient barn for 5 months
living in a tent- no less.
.........

In the Future...
there will be only one way to get a ~RAVEN~ made plug

Til then-->>>>
........as the great Flaptail once said... why even try
