I will be fishing on Sunday (hopefully) I will have my camera & handheld GPS to get lat/lon in the pic as well. Stokes informed us all of something I didn't even think about last time out there were a group of about a dozen trawlers working 3-6 miles off the beach all in a pretty tight area, I should have known what they were targeting.

Thumbs up 179.................

179, I'll be out there on Sunday as well, however the trawler season closed this past Monday as they've met their quota (and probably killed way more than that). Stay vigilant and get as many people informed as possible. They'll be back out there at some point, we all need to keep our collective eyes peeled!

Hey.....Bycatch Bonanza

......since commercial discards and Rec/charter dead release are part of the mix...I'll create a non-profit org/business that gathers the dead stripers from both user groups....process and distribute the filets to soup kitchens, food banks, state institutions, etc.........hey give me a hefty administrative salary, expense account, and let us begin to utilize this resource

Rec charter dead release?!

What is rec/charter dead release? If I kill it, I eat it! But the theory sounds great. All the overcatch/bycatch landed should be donated to feed the hungry AND applied to the respective quota. Think if they HAD to donate it, overcatch/bycatch/discard would be far less than what it is now!!!
