I agree with Uncle Rob on the dive belt available at most dive shops. I had the Surfcaster belt for a while with the plastic buckle but found it poppin open at bad times (prolly b/c I'm fat too). Fisherman's Supply in Pt. Pleasant has the entire dive belt with a stainless steel buckle (for around $14) that I have had zero problem with, never opens, holds all accesories. Once locked will never open unexpectedly.

The photo doesn't give you a good look at the buckle but it is the best I have available.

If you go Uncle Mikes make sure you get the heavy duty version as they make light duty belts...
BlackHawk makes them heavy duty... love their stuff...

I wore the Uncle Mikes leather belt so i can't comment on their webbed belts... I used to wear the Uncle Mikes sidekick for my 1911 which was made from webbed nylon and that was as tough as leather without being aggressive on clothing..

Picked up my De Santis belt for 6$ cant beat it. Its built real well and has held up great for me so far.
