The Doug guy on foxnews this morning interviewed one of the guys there that said the FL show did much better than expected for sales as did this one? Maybe the recession is thawing?
They also showed a Volvo IPS drive boat for $360K that they're introducing (normally $500K). I thought it was jet propulsion but apparently the propellers are facing forward. Wouldn't this rip them apart if you hit anything? And you can't fix them easily where they're located...

I'm going Friday.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Awesome drive system, the props are on pods mounted under the boat and rotate. You can drive the boat sideways. Better economy too. It can also hold the boat in one spot when interphased with nav. system

Until you hit something with them and rip the drive out of the boat.

Already seen that one.

Mini-sized azimuth drives.
Nothing new.

I heard this also,,,,I think what has happened is all those people that got rich when our 401Ks and investments tanked are buying new boats now.

Maybe its just that the majority of people going to the show are actually considering buying a boat so the percentage of buyer seems high.
