It was just an idea.....I would like to fill our off season time with some out of the box ideas...I'm on the water most of the summer after turkey season ends and my wheels are spinning thinking of episodes to film....I'm still trying to ice fish my first striper.....I know they are where I'm fishing....It will happen. I just don't want to be boring like every other show.

I for one applaude you. Takes guts to try something different.
Don't pay too much attention to the NAY Sayers. It's almost March and some of the guys are just getting stir crazy.
We use to have unbelievable "flame wars" at this time of year. One guys wanted to meet me and duke it out. Almost all of that stuff died when "#^^^^^^&" got banned from the site.

Paul:
In all seriousness, you would advocate shooting a shark with a boy and arrow as described?
Seriously?
You know I'm not anti-hunting, but this just seems pointless

I have looked into it and in most other states bowfishing is a HUGE saltwater sport. People hunt the ocean for everything from rays to reds. There is specialized equipment made specific for the sport capable of handling 200+ pound fish. 12' alligators are taken using the same equipment. It was just a thought......not much different than harpooning a tuna at all. (something else I would love to do) I have only caught them trolling and they were all under 200 lbs. I was on the ferry coming off of Block Island years back and saw a spear fisherman who had taken a 40+lb bass using nothing but a snorkel and a wet suit. Thats cool to me as well. There isn't much in this world that doesn't interest me..

The short answer to the question is that if the shark is legal you can kill it any way you want. I'll leave it to solons to decide the moral questions.

I love the fact that every single person here jams a pointy metal object in the mouth or throat of a fish and physically rips it from its home....and thats OK.......but they have issues when it doesn't match up with there own philosophy.
You do realize that there is no humane way to fish....unless its with a camera. Even the devout Catch, Cuddle and Release guys are still ripping a fish from its home with a hook impaled in its lip, barbless or not.
Sully, give it a shot....might be cool to watch. Only one that has to answer the Moral question is You.

 Dead on.
No different than Charter Captains or Recs that keep their limit every trip out and then complain that the limits need to be reduced.
Seems like we're approaching that time when many get pissy before we enter the tradeshow season - I know I got that way briefly.
