Bump!

C'mon guys! Let's pull together and clean this place up.

Please be sure to let me know if you plan to attend so that I can make sure there is enough FREE food for you at lunch time!

I'll see you guys there. Did you find out about the clean up that was set for the following week there WRWA? Also are we bringing our own trash bags and disposing of the trash on our own? Or is the town/state involved in a trash pick up? There is going to be a huge mess there more than before with all of the rain we had.

Hi Jay, looking forward to seeing you there. Hopefully we'll have good weather. Yes, I've contacted the WRWA and will be letting them know how we do on the 10th. If there's nothing left for them to do on their weekend, they'll just have more folks to focus on the other 2 locations they're doing the same day.

This event has been endorsed by the MA DCR and Parks Dept. They are providing all the garbage bags and handling the disposal of all trash picked up.

Pray for good weather... if we get rained out the event will be postponed to Saturday the 24th,,, but I really don't want to have to make that call.

I was really hoping that this kind of event would spark some greater interest here and we'd see a good amount of participation from the NE S-B crowd. Seems to me this would be the kind of event that we could all get behind together.

It looks like we'll have perfect weather for the event this Saturday, and there's still time to get in on this if you're so inclined. Please just reply to this thread or shoot me PM if you're planning to come.

There will be a sign-in/sign-out table set up at the back side of the parking lot near the head of the walking trail. Be sure to stop there when you arrive, sign in, and grab some bags before you head out.

Even if you can't come for the whole day, any help would be very appreciated. We'll be there from 8:00am - 4:00 pm and serving lunch around noon.

Hope to see some of you there!
~ Jake

Thanks so much to all who came out and helped! The DCR staff also asked me to pass on their thanks, and said they'd be very greatful if we could come back in the fall. We had about 25 volunteers throughout the day, and picked up 5 or 6 large truck loads of trash.

Here are a few of the pics I took...
