heads up for the RISAA show
Just wanted to let everyone know this weekend parking could be a tad more difficult. Reasons to follow..
NCAA Tourney games all day Thursday and Saturday
Water fire on Friday
Mary Kay convention Friday thru Sunday
RISAA show Fri thru Sunday
Parking is going to be at a premium, I suggest get there early.

Ouch. That sucks. At least they won't jack up the parking prices.

If anyone has extra tickets to the game, let me know. Otherwise we may have to scalp them.
Thanks

where the hell to park than. I don't know the downtown area at all. Last year I got a 120 dollar ticket for going wrong way Feldman on one of those college area roads. I'm going on Friday.

Don't forget the St. Patricks Day parade and 5K road race on Sat. in Providence. I believe they both start at the State House which is near the convention center. They're gonna have some of the streets in the downtown area closed on Sat.
Race starts at 11:15 and the parade starts at noon.

Checkout RIPTA bus schedule online and park outside the congested areas. Cost is about 1.50
You can park as far as Newport or Narragansett. The commuter lot on 114 in Barrington is a good option for folks coming from 195 east of RI

It's a nightmare to drive through providence when the waterfire is going on, too... Last year I went in there on one of those nights not knowing it was happening, and was stuck in traffic for about two hours.
Sounds like public transportation may be the way to go, even on Friday...

Sounds like a cluster .... waiting to happen!
But that will just add to the fun!
I'm gonna have to figure some place to park and walk-any, suggestions will be most welcome. What is a good area to park in?
How about a GPS address that will put us close...but not too close.

Those GPS devices are confusing. Just turn right where the old Almacs used to be.

I park in the mall parking lot and walk through the tunnel down the stairs through the hotel and across the street.I don't camp at the show so it works for a couple hours in and out.Haven't trucked a rod through the mall yet either but I wouldn't hesitate if the right rod ended up in my hands for the right price.

Picking the boy up from school and heading to the show, should be there by 3:30. Hope its not too bad at that time. Usually hit the parking garage and don't have any trouble as long as you're there early.

i suggest anyone that is going, park in the mall. it is ur safest bet and a short walk across the sky bride and through the westin into the convention center. parking in the mall is the cheapest parking in providence.

Exactly the point. TOO beautiful to be indoors at a trade show. I will not be going this year and will be outside somewhere in the sun.

Mall parking secure? Providence has a high crime rate and one of the highest rates of car theft as well, correct? Heading down fairly early Saturday and was already concerned about parking. Name of mall? Not familiar with the area since the last time I was there was in 1983 for a Kinks concert.
